Spring Fling Catfish Tournament March 13-14, 2010 Official Rules
1. All fish must be alive and will be released back into the Santee Cooper Lakes.
2. No team may weigh-in more than ten fish (five Saturday & five Sunday).
3. Entry Fee is $150 per team if received postmarked by March 1, 2010. Any entry received after that date will be considered "late". Late Entry Fee is $175 per team. A team can be 1, 2, 3, or 4 people, or more as long as your boat is legal and everyone is listed. This is a Captain's Choice Tournament. No weather day. Fishing is at the Captain's discretion. The Captain will accept full responsibility for his actions. All boats must meet U.S.C.G. and the State of South Carolina safety requirements in order to qualify for competition. South Carolina requires all anglers 16 and above to have a fishing license.
4. Stringers are allowed, but the hole in the lower jaw can be no more than 1/2 " square or not more than a 1" long for a single cut. Only one fish is allowed per stringer. No stringers are allowed through the gills.
5. Any fish that is marked or has not been cared for properly will be disqualified.
6. Fish must be weighed in by 4:00 p.m. Saturday, March 13th and from 7:30 a.m. through 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 14th. All fish must be at the weigh-in station and declared to the weigh-in official by 11:00 a.m., Sunday, March 14th. Any team presenting fish to weigh-in after 11:00 a.m. will not be allowed to weigh-in.
7. Any team weighing in fish after 10:00 a.m., March 14th will not be eligible to weigh any other fish afterwards.
8. All Captains must sign card after final weigh-in on Saturday and Sunday.
9. All fish must be caught on rod and reel or cane pole- no non-game methods may be used. All South Carolina Wildlife Resource Department Rules and Regulations must be followed. All fish must be caught by the team weighing in the fish and no fish can be pre-caught.
10. During the tournament no team may anchor their boat within 100 feet of another boat, all fishing must be done from a boat.
11. Any tournament entrant may be given a polygraph test prior to awarding prizes. In all instances and circumstances the decision of the tournament judges will be final. Any protest must be made in writing to the tournament judges not later than 20 minutes after weigh-in deadline.
12. It is agreed that Hill's Landing, Inc. or any other sponsor, will not be held responsible for any accidents caused by or to anyone participating in this tournament. Payment of Entry Fee constitutes acceptance of all rules by the entire team.
13. The "Big Fish Pot" is included in your entry fee and will be awarded to the participating team that weighs-in the largest catfish. Only one fish per team.
14. No spectators are allowed on participants boat, only team members are allowed. Media personnel may be present on a contestants boat with written permission of the tournament officials.
15. All tournament fishermen are required to wear a life preserver while their boat is powered by a combustion engine.
16. All boats must display a tournament pennant supplied by the host, from the highest visible point on their boat during tournament hours.
17. Tournament boundaries will be all waters navigable by boat from the top of the lock on Lake Moultrie to 1-95 on Lake Marion.
